Join the 2023 National Indoor League!

The League runs for 12 weeks at NFAA ranges across the world, offering members the opportunity to compete at an international level from their home range. Archers shoot Vegas rounds for the first 6-week session and NFAA 300 rounds (blue/white face) for the second 6-week session. Scores and scorecards are uploaded by the archer via an online form prior to the end of each session. The archer’s top 4 scores from each session are counted toward their National Indoor League final placement.

IMPORTANT: League scores do NOT have to be shot at a host location. If there is no host in their area, archers can also participate at any 20-yard indoor range around the world. Host locations with a current NFAA club charter or shop license and current NFAA Indoor Range Certification are eligible for rebates.

All participants are entered to win entries into the 2023 National Indoor Championships and other prizes!

All NFAA divisions are welcome to participate and will be flighted as necessary. Participants must be a NFAA or validated USA Archery member in good standing.

Thank you for your interest in hosting the NFAA National Indoor League! You are welcome to promote the National League alongside your local league and encourage archers to sign up for both. Best of all, there are no fees or forms associated with hosting, and you do NOT need to register your League with the NFAA. The only requirements to being a host location include abiding by the NFAA indoor range and round rules set forth in the NFAA Constitution and By-Laws, Article IV, Section E (pp 54-56).

REBATES

The NFAA is offering rebates to host clubs in the amount of $25/adult and $20/junior participants. No form needs to be completed by the host to receive this rebate. Rebate checks will be mailed to the address on file within 2 weeks of the National Indoor League completion. Hosting clubs may also charge their own fee to the archer to further aid in covering expenses.

For a host to be automatically eligible for these rebates, all of the following must be true:

  • The archer declares the location as his/her home range on the scorecard submission form.
  • The shop/club has an active NFAA charter/license through the duration of the League.
  • The shop/club has an active NFAA Indoor Range Certificate through the duration of the League. If a host has an expired Indoor Range Certificate, it must be reinstated no later than the end of Session 1 on Feb 12, 2023 to be eligible for rebates.
    • NOTE: The Indoor Range Certificate is a separate designation from the charter/license and requires a range inspection. Click HERE to learn more about the range certification process and complete the online inspection form.

LEAGUE FORMAT AND SCORECARD SUBMISSION

The National League will consist of 12 weeks, broken into two 6-week sessions. The archer’s best 4 scores from each session will count toward their final National League placement.

Session 1: Jan 1 – Feb 12, 2023. Archers will submit a minimum of 4 Vegas rounds, consisting of 10 rounds of 3 arrows for a maximum total of 300. Xs will be used as tie-breakers. All scorecards for Session 1 must be submitted no later than Feb 17, 2023.

Session 2: Feb 13 – Mar 26, 2023. Archers will submit a minimum of 4 NFAA 300 rounds (blue/white face), consisting of 12 rounds of 5 arrows for a maximum total of 300. Xs will be used as tie-breakers. All scorecards for Session 2 must be submitted no later than Mar 31, 2023.

Archers will shoot their rounds at any 20-yard range around the country. If an archer’s “home” club, as designated on his/her scorecard submission form, holds a current NFAA charter and current NFAA Indoor Range Certificate, that club will be eligible to receive a rebate. Read more about rebates on the Host Information tab.

Archers are responsible for submitting their scorecards via the online form linked HERE. All scorecards for Session 1 must be submitted no later than Feb 17. All scorecards for Session 2 must be submitted no later than Mar 31. Archers are encouraged to submit their weekly scorecards as their rounds are completed during the League. Updated placements based on each archer’s total scores will be posted throughout the event. Actual scores will not be posted until the League has been completed and all scores have been submitted.

Archers must submit all 8 scores (best 4 Vegas rounds and best 4 NFAA 300 rounds) to be given a final ranking and be eligible for awards.

Important!!!! Once the scorecard form is completed for the first time, the archer will receive a confirmation email. The link provided in this confirmation email must be used to edit that same form for subsequent scorecard submissions. Each archer must use a unique email address and the same form for the duration of the League.

ROUND AND SCORING RULES

All rounds will follow NFAA rules as stated in the NFAA Constitution and By-Laws, Article IV, Section E (pp 54-56).

Cubs will shoot at 10 yards for the NFAA 300 rounds (blue/white face) and 20 yards for the Vegas rounds.

Any standardized scorecard can be used to record arrow values. Archers are also able to print off the sample scorecards provided at the link HERE.

The archer plus at least ONE witness must sign the bottom of each scorecard to be considered valid.

For all NFAA rounds, an arrow shaft need only touch the line to be counted in the area of next higher value.

EQUIPMENT RULES

All rounds will follow NFAA shooting styles and equipment rules as stated in the NFAA By-Laws, Article II (pp 29-34).

AWARDS

National Field League Champion belt buckles (see image below!) are awarded to the top finisher in each Championship Flight. 2nd and 3rd place finishers in the Championship Flights are given National Field League medals. Awards are also given to the top 3 finishers in each subsequent flight.

ACHIEVEMENT PRIZES

Vegas and NFAA 300 round keychains are available for purchase during the League or after its completion. To purchase, visit the NFAA store linked HERE.

There is no official "sign up" process to host. The club can simply advertise the League using the official promotional materials provided on the Host Information tab, and tie it into their existing league if they so choose.

Since we are not asking hosts to register with us, we do not have an official list of  the National League hosts. You can search for NFAA Clubs & Shops on the Find a Club/Shop page to see if there are any NFAA clubs or shops in your area. If there are, we encourage you to reach out to them to see if they are hosting or would like to host.

How can my club/shop earn rebates for League archers?

All NFAA clubs and shops are eligible for rebates as long as their Club Charter/Shop License AND their Indoor Range Certification is valid through the duration of the League. If a host has an expired Indoor Range Certificate, it must be reinstated no later than the end of Session 1, Feb 12, 2023. The club will automatically receive a rebate for each archer who designates the location as their home range on the Scorecard Submission Form. No form or additional work is required from the club. For more details, please visit the Host Information tab.

Where can I shoot rounds for the National Indoor League?

You can shoot rounds for the National Indoor League at any 20 yard range around the world!

What is the range distance?

Cubs will shoot from 20 yards for Vegas rounds and 10 yards for the NFAA 300 blue/white round. All other divisions shoot from 20 yards for both rounds.

Where can I purchase targets to shoot during the rounds?

The NFAA will not be providing targets to host locations. Targets can be purchased through the online NFAA Store

How do I submit my scores and scorecards?

You can submit scorecards at any time via the Scorecard Submission Form. Once the form is completed the first time, you will be sent a confirmation email. The link provided in that email will enable you to return to the SAME form and update it throughout the League with your remaining scorecards. You must use the link in the confirmation email to update your form rather than create a new form each time you upload your scores.

What if I can’t submit my scores every week?

Archers are not required to submit scores every week during the League, but their name will not appear on the updated results if no scores are submitted. The deadline for all Session 1 scores to be submitted is Feb 17, 2023. The deadline for all Session 2 scores to be submitted is Mar 31, 2023. Any scores received after these dates will not count toward the archer’s National League ranking.

What if no one else in my area wants to shoot the NFAA National Indoor League?

That is okay! There is no shooting group size requirement to participate in the National Indoor League. Only yourself and ONE other witness need to sign your scorecard to be considered valid. Get to the range, shoot some arrows, and have FUN!!

Where do I find a scorecard to use when shooting my rounds?

Any standardized indoor round scorecard can be used to record scores. For your convenience, you can download and print sample scorecards HERE.
