2024 Indoor Sectionals Sees Great Growth & Success!
Over 2,700 archers competed at 94 host locations around the country with scores cumulated to recognize all-new national rankings.
The curtains have closed on yet another chapter of the annual NFAA Indoor Sectional Championships, leaving archery enthusiasts across the nation buzzing with excitement. Spanning from January 6 to March 10, this year's event unfolded across an impressive number of 94 host locations, drawing in competitors from across the country, all united by their shared passion for the sport.
At the heart of the action is the iconic NFAA blue/white 300 round, testing the skill and precision of participants in one or two intense rounds, depending on the section. The results from the competitors' first round were compiled into all-new national rankings and potentially land them coveted prizes, including hotel stays and registration packages for future NFAA events.
Reflecting on the event's growth, comparisons to the previous year underscored a remarkable expansion. In 2023, 76 locations played host to 2,356 archers, but 2024 saw an impressive surge with 94 hosts welcoming a staggering 2,705 archers. Across the board, every section witnessed an increase in registrations, with the Southwest section leading the charge with a notable 30% increase.
Adding to the excitement was the introduction of electronic scoring, revolutionizing the competition experience by delivering preliminary rankings and final scores with efficiency. As one competitor from the Southwest section remarked, "This year was great!!! Felt very 'renewed,' up-to-date, efficient. Looking forward to national standings, too, this year!"

Yet beyond the numbers and innovations, the NFAA Sectional events served as a beacon for archers of all levels, providing a platform for camaraderie, competition, and personal growth. For those new to the scene, like a budding archer from the Southern section, the championships offered a transformative experience, igniting a passion for future tournaments; "It was my first tournament ever and seeing all the competitors encouraged me to participate in more tournaments", he commented.
