Florida Archers Competed in the World Field Archery Championships
The IFAA 2024 World Field Archery Championship was held August 5-9 in Iguazu, Brazil. Four FAA archers were blessed to be able to experience the scenic field ranges in the tropical forests and the welcoming Brazilian culture. Plus, shooting with other archers from all over the world and making new friends was also part of the amazing experience.
The shooting format consisted of a field, hunter, animal, field, and hunter round during the five days of shooting. In the end, after all 476 arrows had been scored, all four FAA members made podium appearances in their respective divisions. Check the scores online at this Link.
Tim Gross won a world championship in Barebow Compound, Sandie Pettit won a world championship in Bowhunter Limited Compound, Oliver Austin finished in 2nd place in Freestyle Limited Compound, and Michael Spence finished 3rd in Bowhunter Unlimited.
Congratulations to these four archers for their accomplishments. The next IFAA World Field Archery Championship is scheduled for 2026 in Yankton, S.D. An event that you will not want to miss.
