NFAA and NFAA Foundation Celebrate Decade-Long Partnership with Ianseo

When it comes to archery tournaments, there are many familiar names and faces that give their time and expertise to improve our events. We want to give a shout-out to the Ianseo team and supporting staff & volunteers who have contributed to our events in many ways!

The NFAA and NFAA Foundation are thrilled to celebrate their decade-long partnership with Ianseo, the premier electronic scoring software that has revolutionized archery competitions. This collaboration began with the iconic Vegas Shoot and has since extended to all national events, more recently including the BTB & NFAA 1-Arrow 3D Nationals and the renowned Western Classic Trail Shoot in Redding, CA.

Ianseo, an innovative scoring system, has been instrumental in elevating the efficiency and accuracy of our events. The core members of Ianseo, Matteo Pisani, Andrea Gabardi, Christian Deligant, and Ardingo Scarzella frequently assist at our major tournaments, ensuring a seamless experience for the archers and staff alike. Their expertise, dedication, and professionalism have been invaluable to the success of our events.

Revolutionizing Archery Competitions

Thanks to the cutting-edge technology of Ianseo, the NFAA has been able to scale events to levels previously unimaginable. The Vegas Shoot, for example, now attracts nearly 5,000 archers—a feat that would be unmanageable without the efficiency provided by electronic scoring and check-in system.

More recently, the NFAA introduced electronic scoring at the local level, including the 2024 Indoor and Outdoor sectionals. This innovation has transformed the competition experience, providing preliminary rankings and final scores with unprecedented speed and accuracy. With over 3,000 participants utilizing electronic scoring, the benefits go beyond efficiency: for the first time, results from all 8 sections were compiled together to create a National Ranking. This simple yet meaningful addition allows archers to compare their achievements with other archers from all over the country and has the potential to make the NFAA Indoor Sectionals into a much bigger tournament than it is today.

Within the past year, the Ianseo team launched a new scoring app, the Ianseo Scorekeeper NG, and the NFAA Results App where archers can follow scores live, see arrow-by-arrow results, view trade show maps, event schedule, and much more. Larger events, such as the Vegas Shoot and NFAA Indoor Nationals, have also been the testing ground for a revolutionizing "self check-in" process, which reduced the amount of time archers wait in line for check-in, giving back time to practice, shoot, or enjoy the trade-show.

Enhancing Team Events

Electronic scoring has significantly streamlined team events at 3D tournaments, providing an efficient and time-saving solution for managing scores. Team scores are now automatically calculated, eliminating the need for additional scorecards and manual calculations.

The introduction of new team divisions at the 2024 BTB & NFAA 1-Arrow 3D presented a unique scoring challenge. Team partners could belong to different age divisions and gender classes, with handicaps allotted by age division to level the playing field. The Ianseo team worked tirelessly to program their system so that when a handicap was used, the system recorded a 10, 8, 5, or M for the individual score and a 12 for the team score. This process ensures accuracy and removes the need for manual adjustments.

For the Western Classic Trail Shoot, the electronic scoring system automatically selects the best arrow from each team partner, further eliminating the need for a separate scorecard and providing reliable, quick, and easily accessible team results. This efficiency greatly benefits the Sunday shoot-offs and the distribution of awards, making these processes smoother and more timely.

A Grateful Partnership

The NFAA and NFAA Foundation are immensely grateful for our partnership with the Ianseo team. Their support has not only modernized our scoring system but also significantly improved the overall efficiency and enjoyment of our events. As we look to the future, we are excited to continue working with Ianseo to bring the best possible experience to archers at all levels.

This partnership stands as a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration in the world of archery. Here's to many more successful years ahead with Ianseo!
