The Board of Directors Meeting is held biannually during odd-numbered years and brings together State Directors from across the country. This important meeting provides a forum for discussing issues brought forward by NFAA members. Among the key aspects of the meeting is the review of proposed changes to the NFAA Constitution & By-Laws. Each proposal is discussed, and the Board votes to either approve or deny the change.
Several agenda items up for discussion at the 2025 Meeting include proposed changes to equipment rules, age divisions, the inclusion of new rounds, target modifications, and more. These proposals, brought forward by members through their State Directors, have the potential to directly impact competition formats, eligibility, and event offerings across the NFAA.
The Board of Directors Meeting Process guide provides a step-by-step explanation of how agenda items are introduced, reviewed, and brought to the floor for discussion. It details the timeline for submissions, how committees and State Directors evaluate agenda items, and the voting procedures used to make final decisions. This guide also outlines how members can work through their State Director to ensure their voice is heard.
Members are encouraged to review the submitted agenda items and share feedback with their State Director prior to the meeting. The NFAA invites every member to take an active role in shaping the organization's future. Your feedback helps your State Director represent you effectively and ensures that decisions made at the Board of Directors Meeting reflect the needs and priorities of our community. You can find contact information for your State Director by clicking on your state on the NFAA Sections webpage.
