NFAA Introduces an Enhanced Shooter of the Year Program for 2026

The NFAA is proud to announce a completely redesigned Shooter of the Year Program for 2026, created to feature more events and celebrate a greater number of outstanding archers across all ages, styles, and competitive levels.

The new Shooter of the Year Program highlights the NFAA’s best all-around archers by incorporating a broad array of tournaments that represent the full scope of NFAA competition. Point multipliers are applied to tournament rankings to reflect each event’s prestige and longstanding tradition on the NFAA calendar, while ensuring fair and meaningful comparisons across disciplines.

For the first time, the program now includes all NFAA shooting styles, with separate recognition by shooting style and age division, allowing significantly more archers to earn Shooter of the Year honors. Categories span junior, adult, senior, and professional divisions, significantly expanding opportunities for recognition and ensuring that excellence is celebrated at every level of the sport.

For the 2026 season, ten eligible NFAA and NFAA Foundation events will count toward the Shooter of the Year standings:

Rushmore Rumble | Indianapolis, IN
Indoor Sectionals/National Series | USA
Indoor National Championships | Memphis, TN
The Vegas Shoot | Las Vegas, NV
BTB and 1-Arrow Marked 3D National Championships | Friant, CA
Marked 3D National Championships | Redding, CA
Outdoor Sectionals/National Series | USA
Outdoor Field National Championships | Yankton, SD
Outdoor Target National Championships | Yankton, SD
First Dakota Classic | Yankton, SD

To qualify, archers must compete in at least four eligible events within the same Shooter of the Year category, making program qualification more accessible than ever before. Final standings are determined by an archer’s top six placement finishes, including applicable event multipliers, thus encouraging broader participation and attendance throughout the season.

Cash payouts will be awarded to Professional Shooter of the Year winners based on the number of eligible archers and NFAA Professional memberships in each category. An overall award will be presented to the winner of each Amateur Shooter of the Year category.

The NFAA is thrilled to introduce this new Shooter of the Year program for the 2026 season, designed to recognize the achievements of more top archers and provide representation across all NFAA shooting styles and divisions. The program aims to inspire excitement, encourage greater participation, and support growth at NFAA events throughout the season.
