The Return of the Bow: 2026 Sunshine State Games Archery Ignites Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, FL — Archery is officially back at the Sunshine State Games, and the energy this past weekend was absolutely electric!

After an unexpected pause last year, the highly anticipated multi-discipline event returned to the wooded trails and pristine ranges of Gainesville, Florida. Archers from all corners of the state gathered with renewed passion, shaking off the hiatus to deliver some of the most competitive and thrilling rounds we've seen in years. From seasoned veterans to rising youth stars, the atmosphere was a perfect blend of intense focus and a joyous community reunion.

Hosted in coordination the Florida Sports Foundation with the Florida Archery Association (FAA), this year’s tournament put competitors to the ultimate test across four major, distinct disciplines: the rugged terrain of the 3D Course, the technical precision of the Field Round, and the grueling endurance of the classic 720 and 900 Target Rounds.
