World-Class Archery Coach Led Intensive Training Camp in Puerto Rico
The Puerto Rico Archery League (PRAL), affiliated with the National Field Archery Association (NFAA), proudly hosted an intensive archery training camp led by world-renowned coach and medalist Filippo Clini. This exclusive event marked a significant milestone in PRAL’s ongoing efforts to elevate the sport of archery on the island.
Filippo Clini, a celebrated former archer from Luxembourg, brought his expertise to the event. With an illustrious career that included a silver medal at the 1991 World Championships and a bronze medal at the 1997 Indoor World Championships, Clini’s reputation as a certified coach for World Archery and a mentor to Olympians worldwide made this training camp a landmark event.
Held at the scenic Media Luna Hotel in Comerío, the week-long program provided Puerto Rico’s emerging archery talent with focused training on technical skills, posture, precision, competition strategies, and mental resilience for high-pressure scenarios.
“This camp offered an unparalleled opportunity for our rising athletes to sharpen their skills under the guidance of a world-class coach,” said Josean Feliciano, President of PRAL. “Clini’s expertise left a lasting impact on our athletes as they prepared to compete at the highest levels.”
PRAL Secretary Olga Marcano highlighted that the camp specifically targeted young archers excelling in local, state, and national competitions. "This initiative aimed to equip our youth with advanced techniques and strategies to prepare them for future regional and international events," Marcano explained.
“Our mission is to propel Puerto Rican archery to new heights, inspiring our athletes to represent Puerto Rico with pride on the global stage,” added Feliciano.
This initiative underscored PRAL’s dedication to enhancing the competitive landscape of archery in Puerto Rico, leaving a legacy for the sport.
