2023 National Field Archery Association - Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

General Assembly Meeting called to order by President Brian Sheffler at 8:02 AM.
Invocation: Prayer led by CA Director Gary McCain.
Pledge of Allegiance: Led by Brittany Salonen, NFAA Operations Director, acting Sergeant at Arms.
Bruce Cull suggested a Moment of Silence be observed in remembrance of Tim Austin.
2021 Board of Director’s Meeting Minutes: Motion made by MI to accept the minutes. Seconded by WI. All in favor via verbal ayes, 0 opposed. 2021 minutes were accepted.

CA-02: CA moved to adopt. AZ 2nd. Passed. Revision, Constitution, Page 11, Article 3, Section 8, Para 8, Item 8.1-8.5 Remove following sections: 8, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5. Summary: Removes USA Archery membership reciprocity.

AZ-04: AZ moved to adopt. CA 2nd. Discussion: NFAA President Brian Sheffler can call meeting at any time. MI motion to table. FL 2nd. Motion to Table passed.

C-04: Moved. 2nd. Passed. New Item, Policy, Page 94 Summary: In the event that the wrong target or the wrong round is shot during an NFAA sanctioned tournament, the round or target being used will stand as it is shot. No records will be set.

C-08: NC moved to adopt, AZ 2nd. Passed. Revision, Policy, Page 90, Section 2014. New Item, Policy, Page 94, Section 2023. Summary: A Judge Certification Program shall be established.
C-02: MA moved to adopt, NC 2nd. Passed. Revision, Policy, Page 94, Article 2022. Summary: Extend trial period for allowing Collegiate divisions at all NFAA events.
C-06: MA moved to adopt, KS 2nd. Passed. New Item, Policy, Page 94, Section 2023. Summary: For all national and sectional tournaments where Guardian Angels are used to accompany Cub groups, the NFAA Council shall determine the process for screening individuals.
C-12: FL moved to adopt, NC 2nd. Passed. Revision, Constitution, Page 24, Article XII, Sections A, C, J, K, M. Summary: Increase in NFAA dues.

FL-3: FL moved to adopt, AZ 2nd. Failed.

AZ-07: AZ moved to adopt, CA 2nd. Passed. Revision, Page 52, Article VI, Section C, Para 2, Item 2.1. Summary: For the animal round, an arrow shaft must touch the bonus dot to be counted in the next higher value. Arrows touching the orientation or guide line will not count for the higher value.
FL-7: FL moved to adopt, TN 2nd. Failed.

Proposed 2024 Budget: Financial Reports and proposed 2024 NFAA Budget was reviewed. MI moved to accept proposed budget. TN 2nd. Budget was approved by electronic vote.
