National Outdoor Leagues Crown 27 Champions

The National Field League and National Target League brought archers together from across the world for an exciting season of competition, rewarding consistency, improvement, and dedication to the sport. With the opportunity to compete at a national level from their home range, archers could choose to participate in either league or take on the challenge of both.

Each league ran for 12 weeks at NFAA ranges worldwide, culminating in its respective National Championship event. The National Field League ran from May 11 through July 31, 2026, while the National Target League took place from June 1 through August 30, 2026. Throughout the season, archers had the flexibility to compete locally while measuring their performance against fellow archers nationwide.

A total of 27 archers were crowned National League Champions and received a special belt buckle award in recognition of their accomplishments. All league participants were also entered into a drawing to win a free registration to a 2027 NFAA National or Sectional event of their choice. Stella Mende (Rolla, Missouri) was drawn as the lucky winner and will receive a complimentary registration to an event of her choice.

The National Outdoor Leagues also provided benefits for participating clubs and shops. Eligible clubs and shops that hosted the leagues received lucrative cash rebates based on the archers competing at their locations, rewarding local facilities for supporting participation and helping grow the sport.

A Flexible Format That Rewards Improvement

The National Outdoor Leagues were designed to give archers flexibility throughout the tournament season. Members could submit scores from their home range or use scores shot at any NFAA event, allowing them to compete without being limited to a single location or scheduled tournament.

The National Target League required participants to submit at least eight scores: four from the 900 Round and four from the 600 Classic Round. In the National Field League, participants were required to submit their best nine scores during the league period. These scores included three each from field, hunter, and animal rounds, challenging archers to demonstrate versatility and consistency across each of the disciplines.

One of the most valuable features of both leagues was the ability to replace previously submitted scores with improved results throughout the competition period. Archers could continue competing in tournaments, track their progress, and see their standings climb as they improved. This flexibility rewarded continued effort and gave participants an additional incentive to refine their skills throughout the summer.

Looking Ahead to the Indoor Season

The NFAA National League continues to provide archers with an accessible way to compete nationally while remaining active in their local archery communities. By combining flexible scoring requirements with the opportunity to compete at NFAA events, the League offers a unique experience for archers of varying skill levels and competitive goals.

In an effort to continue growing archery at the community level, the NFAA is excited to introduce all-new initiatives for the National Indoor League, launching in January 2027. These new opportunities will build on the success of the National League program, giving archers, clubs, and shops even more ways to get involved. As the next season approaches, the NFAA looks forward to expanding participation and creating new opportunities for competition, improvement, and national-level recognition.
