National Indoor League Concludes & Archers Look Forward to Outdoor League

Since its introduction in 2022, the National Indoor League has experienced remarkable success, witnessing a surge in registrations and enthusiasm among archers eager for competitive opportunities within the comfort of their home ranges. The 12-week league offers NFAA members a unique chance to compete nationally without leaving their local ranges.

As the NFAA National Indoor League wraps up another successful season, participants and fans alike are eager to review the final results and celebrate the accomplishments of all involved. During the first six weeks of the League, archers tested their precision with Vegas rounds. The excitement continued into the second session with NFAA 300 rounds, challenging archers with the iconic blue and white face targets. Archers could use scores from their local League nights or any NFAA tournament and submit them via an online form before each session concludes. Their top four scores from each session were tallied to determine final League placements, providing an overview of their performance over the 12 weeks. One of the most enticing aspects of the National League is its flexibility. Archers have the freedom to shoot as many scores as desired during the league dates, with the option to replace scores on their scorecard submission form if they improve throughout the season!

national indoor league sees great growth since 2022 inception

With registration numbers growing over 35% between 2022 and 2024, the National Indoor League has a bright future. Nearly 460 archers registered for the 2024 League including Bonnie Terribilini, a seasoned participant in the league. She expressed the significance of her involvement since 2022, “I really find that it's important for me to shoot the National League, especially the Indoor when we aren't able to consistently shoot due the weather. There is a good sense of camaraderie and friendly competition amongst us. We come to know each other well and cheer each other on. Having (the) league each week keeps me on a consistent schedule and encourages practice in between. Shooting in the National League provides me with the opportunity to know how I'm doing nationally and gives me goals & incentives for improvement.”

Love Casanova is an avid archer who has also competed in multiple years of the National Leagues. She shared her League experiences, “I enjoy participating in the Indoor and Outdoor National Leagues. I look forward to them every year. With our local indoor and outdoor SYWAT (Shoot Your Way Across Texas) shoots, the concept of the National League helps make my practice session a little more intense. I try to use my tournament scores, but I know I can also use my practice scores. I don’t always get to attend the National Shoots. So this is a great way for me to see where I stand against my Silver Senior Female Freestyle friends.”

league hosts enjoy lucrative benefits

The National Indoor League not only offers benefits to individual archers, but also extends support to clubs and shops across the country. NFAA clubs and shops holding a valid charter and Indoor Range Certification qualify for lucrative hosting rebates. These funds can be utilized to cover expenses associated with hosting the League or for other purposes as deemed appropriate by the club. Even more, there are no fees or registration requirements associated with hosting so anyone can get involved! Peter McCormick, representing East River Archery, reflected on the event following a remarkable turnout for their club in Florida.I encouraged all of our archers to compete in the League, because it is a high volume of shooting during our season, and I thought it could be a motivating factor, as training sometimes gets redundant. I feel it had a positive impact on my archers' shooting, which will hopefully be evident at our State Championship [...]! I will encourage our archers to do it again next year,” stated McCormick.

congratulations!

In addition to the competition awards that feature a unique Champion belt buckle and medals for 2nd and 3rd places, all participants were entered into a drawing for additional prizes. Congratulations to the winners!
