NFAA Marked 3D National Championship Draws Archers From Around the Globe

The NFAA, in partnership with Straight Arrow Bow Hunters, proudly hosted the 32nd Annual Marked 3D National Championship in conjunction with the 42nd Annual Western Classic Trail Shoot, May 1 - 3, 2026, in Redding, California. The combined event welcomed 1,355 archers from around the globe, all coming together to compete at what has become known as one of the premier “must-attend” shoots of the year.

Featuring 70 3D animal targets with orange dots, including the infamous Big Foot, archers competed across challenging terrain that tested them with uphill, downhill, and sidehill technical shots. From seasoned professionals to first-time competitors, archers embraced the demanding courses and the unique experience that has made the Western Classic a staple event in the archery community.

Standout performances highlighted the weekend across multiple divisions. In the Pro Male Freestyle division, Kyle Douglas claimed the title outright with a 1539, delivering a strong and consistent performance throughout the course. Paige Pearce captured her 11th title in the Pro Female Freestyle division with a 1536, setting a new women’s course record in the process. Kevin Wilkey dominated the new Adult Modern Bowhunter Freestyle division with a 1529, establishing himself as the one to beat in the division. In the Young Adult Male Freestyle division, Kameron Kakaleck secured a hard-fought victory with a 1529, edging Christopher Fong by a single point in one of the closest finishes of the weekend.

In addition to the exceptional competition, attendees were treated to nearly perfect weather throughout the weekend. Longtime participants know the event has historically brought everything from rain and cold temperatures to extreme heat, making this year’s beautiful conditions especially appreciated by competitors and spectators alike.

The NFAA extends its sincere appreciation to Straight Arrow Bow Hunters, volunteers, sponsors, and all participants who helped make the 2026 event another tremendous success.
