Puerto Rico Archery League Hosts First NFAA State Championship

The Puerto Rico Archery League (PRAL), the official National Field Archery Association (NFAA) State Association for Puerto Rico, successfully hosted its first-ever NFAA State Championship on December 7 in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.

The competition featured the prestigious Vegas-style shooting event and brought together PRAL affiliates and guest participants from various archery organizations across the island, creating a vibrant celebration of talent, precision, and sportsmanship. The remarkable skill of archers in multiple divisions was showcased, with champions crowned as follows:  

•    Barebow Adult Male: Lohendy Gracia Salvá  
•    Freestyle Youth Male: Sebastián Feliciano Cruz  
•    Freestyle Senior Male: Samuel Roque Caraballo 
•    Freestyle Silver Senior Male: Harold Cuadro Campos  
•    Freestyle Limited Recurve Cub Female: Isabeliz Hernández  
•    Freestyle Limited Recurve Youth Female: Liah J. Gonzalez Marcano  
•    Freestyle Limited Recurve Youth Male: Edward K. Sanders  
•    Freestyle Limited Recurve Young Adult Female: Natalia J. Rivera  
•    Freestyle Limited Recurve Young Adult Male: Juan D. San Miguel Cortés  
•    Freestyle Limited Recurve Adult Female: Natcha M. León  
•    Freestyle Limited Recurve Senior Female: Olga Padilla  

This state championship marks the conclusion of PRAL’s highly active and successful competitive program for 2024. Despite being a recent NFAA affiliate, the Puerto Rico chapter has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the sport, participating in key national events, including the NFAA Outdoor Target League and the NFAA Indoor Fall Target League.  

PRAL remains dedicated to advancing the sport of archery in Puerto Rico and is already looking forward to continuing its participation in state, sectional, and national events under the NFAA umbrella. The organization’s efforts aim to foster growth and promote archery as both a recreational activity and a competitive sport across the island.  

PRAL extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the champions and participants and thanks the archery community for their unwavering support throughout the year. Here's to an even more successful 2025 season!
