2025 Roundup Announced: Premier Archery Event Returns to Yankton

The archery community is gearing up for the 2025 Roundup, taking place in Yankton, SD at the world’s largest archery center from September 18-21, 2025. This archery-packed weekend features the prestigious First Dakota Classic and the NFAA Outdoor National Target Championships, with the highly anticipated 3-Star Shoot-Off providing an additional thrill for both professional and amateur archers. The events are scheduled to allow archers to participate in both tournaments without missing any of the action!

First Dakota Classic

The First Dakota Classic kicks off the weekend with official practice on Thursday, September 18, followed by qualifying rounds and the 3-Star Shoot-Off on Friday, September 19. The competition then shifts to head-to-head matches on Saturday afternoon, where archers will go head-to-head for cash prizes and scholarships.

The event is an indoor distance tournament featuring the NFAA Classic round, 70% payback in all Flight and Championship categories, and scholarships for Junior Division Champions. The Classic 600 round consists of 4 ends of 5 arrows shot at 3 distances, starting with the closest distance. Cub archers compete at 10-20-30 yards, Youth at 30-40-50 yards, and Young Adult/Flight/Championship archers at 40-50-60 yards. Head-to-head matches utilize the same target face as the qualifying round and consist of 3 ends of 5 arrows at the archer’s furthest distance.

NFAA Outdoor National Target Championships

The NFAA Outdoor National Target Championships begins with official practice on Friday, September 19, followed by the Classic 600 round on Saturday morning and the 900 Round on Sunday. The Classic 600 round follows the same rules and distances as the qualifying round of the First Dakota Classic. The NFAA 900 Round features 5 ends of 6 arrows at each of 3 distances on a 122cm multicolor target face. Distances for the 900 Round are the same as those for the Classic 600 round, but they get progressively closer, with archers finishing on their shortest distance instead of their furthest.
