NFAA Outdoor Field Sectionals and National Series Feature Exciting New Updates

The NFAA is proud to announce the return of its Outdoor Field Sectionals and National Series, taking place across the United States from April through July 2026. These highly anticipated events bring together archers of all skill levels to compete within their respective sections for top honors and national recognition.

Throughout the sectional season, archers will compete locally against others in their designated regions to earn the title of Sectional Champion. Beyond sectional accolades, competitors’ scores will be combined across all sections nationwide to determine the prestigious National Series Champion in each division.

NEW FOR 2026!

In an exciting addition for 2026, participants in the Outdoor Field Sectionals and National Series will now earn points toward the NFAA Shooter of the Year program. Introduction of the Modern Field Round

Also debuting this year is the Modern Field Round, a newly developed competition format designed to encourage participation and growth in field archery. To support this initiative, the NFAA Board of Directors approved the formation of a Competition Committee, which was tasked with developing a trial field round based on member feedback. The fresh approach lowers barriers to entry while maintaining the spirit and challenge of traditional field archery. Catering especially to newer field archers, the Modern Field Round features:

  • Three arrows per target
  • Twelve targets per field/hunter/animal round
  • Simplified rules for ease of participation

Archers and clubs across the country have already shown strong interest, with numerous hosts confirmed and additional locations continuing to be added to the schedule.
