RIC 2022-1.  RIC ruling is upheld.

The Illinois NFAA Director was asked to rule if the Axcel Accu View Plus Crosshair sight was legal in Freestyle Bowhunter. The Director ruled that the sight had too many reference points, and ruled that the sight was not legal for Freestyle Bowhunter. 

NFAA By-Laws, page 30 (NFAA Shooting Styles and Equipment Rules) Section E, Paragraph 1 states a maximum of (5) five fixed reference points; points of attachment shall not be considered reference points. 

RULES INTERPRETATION COMMITTEE DECISION

The RIC Committee reviewed the decision by the Illinois NFAA Director. The applicable NFAA Equipment Rules as stated in the 2019 NFAA Constitution & By-Laws (Effective November 1, 2019) and prior RIC Rulings.

The RIC agrees with the decision of the Illinois NFAA Director. 


RIC 2022-2.  RIC ruling is upheld.

The Rules Interpretation Committee (RIC) met Thursday, March 3, 2022 to review the protest paperwork that was received from the Texas Field Archery Association (TFAA). The protest was filed at the Texas Indoor State Tournament held February 25-26, 2022 in regards to a Transgender Female competing in the Senior Female Freestyle Division.

The RIC voted 2 to 1 to overturn the Texas protest.
