2026 Indoor Sectionals and National Series Wrap Up with Strong Participation Nationwide
The NFAA is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2026 Indoor Sectionals and Indoor National Series, held at ranges across the country from January through March. Archers began by competing within their respective sections, each aiming to earn the title of Sectional Champion. But the competition extended beyond local ranges, as scores from every sectional event were combined to determine the 2026 Indoor National Series Champions in each division.
The Indoor National Series brought a new layer of recognition to the season. In addition to sectional titles, archers competed for national rankings, with podium finishers honored in each division. For the first time, National Series results also counted as one of the minimum four events required for Shooter of the Year qualification. This enhanced program now reflects a broader range of events, helping to identify the most well-rounded archers across all disciplines.
A new competition format was introduced across all sections for 2026. Each event consisted of the best one of two NFAA 300 blue/white rounds. Archers had the option to shoot either one or two rounds, with only their highest score counting toward both sectional placement and national ranking. This approach gave archers more flexibility in their schedules, and allowed those who could only attend one day to remain fully competitive. The format was widely embraced across all sections and contributed to strong participation growth nationwide.
The growth and success of the 2026 Indoor Sectionals and National Series was supported by strong engagement from the archery community and continued interest in national-level competition. Among the standout stories was Midwest Cub archer Clayton Jones, who earned a 3rd-place finish in the National Series at just his second-ever competition. “I liked that I could try again and do better,” said Clayton. “I did better on the second day and shot my best score ever! It was really fun to shoot with everyone, and getting 3rd place at the national competition made me want to practice even more.”
As the indoor season came to a close, attention has turned to the outdoor calendar. Up next on the sectional circuit is the Outdoor Field Sectionals & National Series, which will take place on NFAA field ranges across the country from April through July.
